2. About the Platform

PrivateInvestigator.Tech is an investigative OSINT platform enabling users to search public/exposed datasets using various identifiers. We proxy queries to licensed APIs and do not host breach data.

3. Eligibility and Acceptable Use

• Be at least 18 years old
• Use only for lawful and investigative purposes
• Comply with your jurisdiction's laws

You agree to not engage in unlawful, discriminatory, or abusive behavior.

4. Customer Vetting and KYC

• Provide accurate KYC info when requested
• Use your real name or organization
• Update your information promptly

We may revoke access if misuse is suspected.

5. Credit-Based Access and Payment

• Credits are consumed per search
• Non-refundable unless legally required
• May expire after 12 months
• Subject to change with notice

Payments are handled by secure third-party providers. We do not store payment details.

6. Use of Third-Party APIs

• We do not guarantee third-party data accuracy
• We’re not liable for API downtime
• We may change providers at any time

You accept we serve as an aggregator or proxy.

7. Redaction and Censorship Policy

We automatically redact sensitive data such as:

• Passwords (hashed or plaintext)
• SSNs, national IDs, insurance numbers
• Passport/visa numbers
• Credit card/bank account numbers
• API keys and tokens
• Non-public home addresses
• Security Q&As, family identifiers

Report uncensored data to privacy@PrivateInvestigator.Tech.

8. Prohibited Uses

• Harassment or stalking
• Background checks for FCRA-governed purposes
• Violation of privacy or anti-discrimination laws
• Scraping, rehosting, or reselling data
• Circumventing rate limits or automating queries

Violations may lead to suspension, termination, or legal action.

9. Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) Disclaimer

PrivateInvestigator.Tech is not a consumer reporting agency. It cannot be used for employment, housing, insurance, or credit decisions.

10. Intellectual Property

All original code, interface logic, branding, and documentation are owned by Private Investigator dot tech Ltd. Third-party data remains the property of its providers.

11. Ethical Use Commitment

• Promote transparency and digital safety
• Do not harm or expose private individuals
• Never abuse breached data
• Use only for legal, professional investigations

Violations may result in account suspension.

12. Cookies and Analytics

We use only essential cookies for login. No fingerprinting, retargeting, or behavioral tracking. Analytics (if introduced) will follow opt-in and legal compliance standards.

13. Law Enforcement and Legal Compliance

We cooperate with law enforcement only under valid legal process such as court orders or subpoenas. We do not log or voluntarily share user data.

14. Security and Retention

• HTTPS/TLS encryption
• Access controls and backend security
• ≤24 hour search result caching
• No long-term breach data storage
• Encrypted, anonymized logging (if applicable)

15. Limitation of Liability

• Indirect or consequential losses
• Inaccurate third-party data
• Downtime or platform errors
• User misuse of information

16. Disclaimer of Warranties

Platform is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind — including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, or uninterrupted service.

17. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify us against claims, losses, or damages related to your misuse or violation of these Terms.

18. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the local laws applicable to your location (e.g. U.S., UK, EU, Australia, UAE). Disputes are subject to your local courts.

19. Severability

If any term is unenforceable, it will be modified or removed without affecting the rest.

20. Survival

Sections covering liability, IP, indemnification, and legal jurisdiction remain in effect after termination.

We may update these Terms at any time. Significant changes will be communicated via email or banner.
